Trudy Cox
Born and raised in rural Indiana, Trudy Cox holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and certification as a Reading Specialist from Purdue University. She did post-graduate work at UW-Whitewater and Carroll University in Early Childhood Education and Administration. Her career included teaching two and three year-olds, Kindergarten, second grade and third grade. In addition, she was a mentor and coach to younger educators, developed curriculum, participated in district leadership, and was an advisor to the development of the Mukwonago Area School District’s 4K Community Partnership.
Trudy retired from teaching when she and her husband Don moved full-time to Door County in 2017. She and daughter Emma are now the passionate co-proprietors of kindgoods, a fair trade gift shop in Sister Bay. Her family also includes Emma’s husband Christian and their son Tommy, who attended Northern Door Children’s Center and is now a student at Gibraltar Area Schools.
